2 Fitness Myths Busted

I am going to get right into it today with 2 fitness myths that hear when working with clients

Fitness Myth 1 : If I'm not working up a sweat, I'm not working hard enough.

FACT: Sweating is an inaccurate way to measure how hard you've worked out. Sweating shouldn't be a gauge of how hard you're working during a workout. Many factors go into the amount a person sweats, such as the temperature, humidity and hydration levels. Your body just could be efficient at cooling itself, as well.

Also, I personally do not sweat a lot when training upper body vs legs .... it doesn't mean I worked harder on leg day!

Myth 2 : No pain, no gain.

FACT: While feeling uncomfortable during a workout is normal, feeling pain is not. Many athletes/people live by the "no pain, no gain" motto, but pain is the way your body tells you that something is wrong. If you start to feel pain during a workout, stop immediately. If you continue to push through it, you could end up with a serious injury.

If you are over the age of 30 when you start to feel pain change in intensity in your training, those little nagging injuries that would pop up and the heal quickly in your teens and 20's no longer do.... they stick around and often get worse.

Push yourself when you train, get uncomfortable in your sessions but don't fight through pain trust me from personal experience it's not worth it.

As always any questions just ask.

PS starting April 28th I am taking another group of people who are ready to level up this spring through my 6 week REVIVE program.

All you have to do is fill out the no commitment application before committing to the program.
