1. Your body becomes its function, or think of it as “your body becomes what it repeatedly does.” Do the activities you want your body to transform to. If you workout, you’ll become a better a stronger leaner version of you by losing fat and gaining muscle. If you drink beer and watch sports all day, you’ll become a better beer drinker and sports watcher.
2. Choose fitness activities that you love. Your heart knows no difference between yoga or Crossfit. It only knows perceived stress and rate it is going. Get your heart rate up any way you can, you will be more successful if it’s doing something you love.
3. Start eating right today, don’t wait until tomorrow, and please don’t wait until Monday. You will never be ready and you will never have more time in your life than you do right now to make progress start today.
4. Don’t compare yourself to others. It doesn’t matter what someone else looks like, or if they are faster or stronger than you. This isn’t a competition and sure as heck isn’t a race. All that matters is that you are the best version of you. Don’t worry about other people. Focus on giving your 100% effort whatever that looks like.
5. Don’t make excuses. Everyone can be in amazing shape if they stay focused, set goals, and be consistent day in and day out.
