Building a Balanced Plate 101

I hope everyone had a great finial long weekend of the summer and re ready to get back into routine with work, kids back to school and your nutrition! Here's your ultimate guide to balancing your protein, fiber/carbs, and healthy fats on your plate:


🥩 Protein Power: Protein is your body's building block. It supports muscle growth, repairs tissues, and keeps you feeling satisfied. Opt for lean sources like grilled chicken, turkey, fish, tofu, or beans.


🌾 Fiber Finesse: Fiber is your digestive superhero! It keeps things moving smoothly and helps regulate blood sugar levels. Load up on colorful veggies, whole grains like quinoa or brown rice, and legumes like lentils.


🥑 Healthy Fat Fabulousness: Healthy fats are essential for overall health. They keep your heart happy, boost brain function, and enhance nutrient absorption. Think avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil.


🍽️ Here's the Plan:

  • Fill half your plate with a rainbow of veggies and greens. 🥦🥕

  • Reserve one-quarter for lean protein. Think grilled chicken, fish, or plant-based options like lentils or tofu. 🍗🍛

  • The remaining quarter can be for a high fibre, complex carbs (optional). Go for brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, or parsnips🍚🍠

  • Don't forget a sprinkle of healthy fats! A drizzle of olive oil or a sprinkle of nuts and seeds adds a satisfying touch. 🥑🌰
