I'm Finally BACK!!!

I am not sure if you follow me on social media or not (not sure why you wouldn'.t I share lots of info on training, food, recovery, workouts, exercise techniques on FB and Instagram I'll put the links below so you can check it out!) but the first 2 weeks of July was a family trip to France.

This trip was about a year in the making and was a wish of my late father-in-law for as long as I can remember. He always wanted to take the family to France to meet his Aunt and Uncle and his cousins which we did. 15 of us toured Paris, Dunkerque in the North and Avignon in the South and it was an amazing a trip of sight seeing, food, adventures and meeting our extended family for the first time.

While on the trip I did not workout once!!! But we where clocking about 15-18,000 steps/day and I came home 4-5lbs lighter then when I left despite the cheese, charcuterie boards, fries, deserts and pizza. I never felt guilty ONCE and that is huge for me. Last week was a recovery week as I had my first vertigo episode that landed me in an emergency room as I had no idea what was happening - so again NO WORKING OUT just rest, physio and acupuncture.

Here's my point to this story, when travelling have a plan before you leave. I knew this trip was an exploring trip not a sit by the pool at an all inclusive resort trip. So I planned on not working out, but just experiencing the country and the food. IF it has been a relax by the pool at an all inclusive resort then I would have planned to workout. So I am going to give you some healthy travel trips that you can use the next time you travel and if you have any other tips you would like to add to my list then let me know in the comments below.

Many of these are simple tasks or items you can plan or prep with to make your travel much smoother and healthier.

1. Pound the Water

2. Hit the Grocery Store if you have access to a kitchen

3. Take your Travel Snacks if you are driving (nuts, jerky, protein bars)

4. Research Eating Out Spots

5. Plan your Movement

So, if you travel for work or have summer trips and vacations coming up these tips should help you navigate your way through so you can enjoy your trip but not completely derail all your training efforts.

If you have any questions please just ask I am here to help answer and don't forget to check out my social media pages.
