Is nutrition overwhelming?
When you have a lot to deal with, it can feel like staying on track with nutrition is an overwhelming challenge.
But the truth is…
You don't have to go crazy with restrictive meal plans to hit your fitness goals.
There are plenty of practical and sustainable ways for you to eating on track and they have nothing to do with dieting.
I’m going to show you some effective approaches.
First, keep an eye on portion sizes.
Overeating is a major contributor to weight gain and it's often due to oversized servings.
So, instead of going back for seconds or mindlessly snacking (been there done that a lot!), try slowing down and listening to your body's hunger cues.
Next, incorporate more physical activity or NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) into your daily routine.
Find an activity you enjoy. Be it walking, swimming, or playing sports with friends.
The key is to commit to doing it consistently. I like walking as the go-to choice for me and 99% of my clients.
NEAT activities will help you burn calories and it will improve your overall health and well-being.
Third, prioritize sleep.
I cannot emphasize this enough. Lack of quality rest can lead to weight gain due to hormonal imbalances and increased hunger. Ensure you're getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night ( I know sometimes easier said than done)
and maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
Lastly, stress management is essential for success.
Chronic stress leads to emotional eating and poor food choices (anyone else but me like to drown emotions in food)
Try adding relaxing activities like meditation, yoga or deep breathing while lying in bed to your daily routine to keep stress away.
Breaking free from the diet mentality is possible and remember that setbacks are normal and are going to happen.
What matters is that you keep pushing forward and stay committed to your health and goals.
