Today vs Tomorrow
If you haven’t made the intentional decision to change yet…
Then everything you struggled with today, will still be waiting for you tomorrow.
Your relationships.
Your work.
Your weight.
Your home.
So what might be holding you back from deciding to carve a new path and finally give yourself a change?
Have you heard of the term decision paralysis?
It has a way of creeping in when we’re unsure which path to take.
It’s when we have too many options to choose from....too many things to think about...too many avenues to analyze
So we default to choosing none of them.
And you know what the means?
Well - if nothing happens, then nothing happens.
AKA you’ll stay stuck, unhappy, frustrated...
Bottom line: if you spend your days thinking about all the things that aren’t working, and all the things that you’ll decide on tomorrow, you might miss the opportunities that are right in front of you.
>>> As your coach, I want to give you tangible tips today in learning how to STOP analyzing and START being.
Write. It. Down. - Write out all the stuff in your head. Making bullets and jotting down all your heavy thoughts allow you to remove the clutter from your mind, knowing that they are organized elsewhere. By putting your thoughts on paper, you’ll open up other space in your mind for new ideas and different possibilities.
Know It’s Not Forever. Sometimes when we over-think things, it’s because we think the decision is forever. In our modern world, everything is not only figure-out-able, but there are always options to change your path... know there is ALWAYS a chance to course-correct.
Give yourself a pattern interrupt. You gotta shake it up! If you're getting really stuck, create a pattern interrupt to get out of your rut - this will help stimulate a different part of your brain. Go dance around your office, go for a walk, paint a picture, change your environment. Ultimately - give yourself a jolt so you can create a distraction from overthinking. You’ll come back to it with a different perspective and see things in a different light.
You make, on average, 35,000 decisions each day.
And if it’s in your bones to analyze that decision first…
...You’re headed for some painfully long days.
Give yourself a break.
Don’t wait for things to happen.
Don’t wait to see if things will change.
>>>Claim ownership and make them happen.
Tip: Simply making the first step forward in a decision will help you get unstuck.
